What happens when you take a child obsessed with entrepreneurship, give him a philosophy degree, and let him get bit by the writing bug?

You get Dakota LaMarre.

I dropped out of Laurier’s business program within the first month of classes. Choosing to study philosophy instead taught me critical thinking, argumentation, and how to write quickly and logically. After graduation, I ended up working in tech sales for a while, and would’ve had an illustrious career as an Account Executive except for the obvious misalignment with my spirit.

I was faced with a choice between pursuing my passion and succumbing to the path others had laid out for me. Since I found time to write almost every evening, even after a full day of sales and a busy social life, the choice was clear. So, I quit my sales job, bought a 1-way ticket to Spain, and committed to being a full-time writer.

After years of traveling, learning, and trial and error, I published my first co-authored book about leadership in 2021. It was a momentous milestone, but sadly it was a commercial flop. It was a devastating blow as an aspiring author to learn that people don’t read much anymore, that competition in the world of books is ever-expanding nowadays, and that there’s very little money in book sales.

While I still work on books to this day, and have since published another co-authored book about savvy wealth-building principles, I had to find a way to use my talents to provide more value to the people I wanted to help.

I knew it was entrepreneurs and companies that I wanted to serve, but I needed credibility, experience, and a proven system I could use to help transform their businesses and the lives of their employees. That’s when I discovered the world of training programs.

I invested in a 14-month all-intensive course creation program. It was like going back to college, except this time I knew that the skills I was learning would directly impact my career. I learned how to create online, hybrid learning journeys that not only conveyed information, but transformed the lives of my participants.

I built my first course, deployed it, and it was a smashing success. Only problem was, I didn’t have the expertise to turn that course into a thriving business. So, I took my course creation and sales skills, bolstered them with new knowledge about operations and talent acquisition, and built myself a company I’d been dreaming about since I was a little kid.

That’s how LaMarre Solutions was born, and I’m so grateful for the opportunities it’s provided me to help the people I care most about - entrepreneurs and their employees. I now have the Operational Excellence Training Program that helps your operations and admin staff run your company more effectively and efficiently and industry-specific trainings that help your staff perform better in their roles.

I also consult clients on how to improve their in-house training programs and offer Fractional COO services for clients who are ready to scale their businesses quickly. I make it a point to help all my clients take advantage of grant funding available to them by partnering with a 3rd party grant-writing service.

At the end of the day, I’m just an author/philosopher with an entrepreneurial obsession and a desire to help companies be amazing places to work. If that sounds like something you’re interested in discussing, please get in touch. I’m eager to help anyone who cares about creating great companies.
